Reminder – Non-Immigrant Visa Fee Changes for PNG
This doesn’t affect U.S. Citizens, but please spread the word among your PNG friends and colleagues.
Effective March 4, 2019, the following visa reciprocity schedule for nonimmigrant visa (NIV) categories for Papua New Guinea citizens came into effect. These changes increased the fee and/or decreased the validity for the visa categories below, and are commensurate to those imposed by the Government of Papua New Guinea on U.S. citizens. Former reciprocity fees/validities are in parentheses.
|Visa Class||Total Fee (USD)||Entries||Validity|
|B1/B2 (Short-term Business/Tourist)||$160||Single||1 Month (3 Months)|
|B1/B2 (Long-term Business/ Tourist)||$323 ($175)||Multiple||12 Months|
The visa validity date starts on the date of the interview at the Embassy. Thus, if travelers apply for the 1-month visa, they should plan on arriving in the U.S. within 30 days of the interview date. Please book your interview appointment accordingly.
More information on the visa process and online applications can be found on the U.S. Embassy website at https://pg.usembassy.gov/visas/tourism-visitor/how-to-apply/
Please note that fees are only paid to the U.S. Embassy at the time of the interview. Applicants should never pay a “service fee” to an online visa broker prior to the interview. Fees can be paid in cash either in PGK or USD – we do not currently accept credit card payments for these services.
