U.S. Embassy Closed on Dec. 24th, 2018

To All U.S. Citizens,

The U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby would like to inform the public that the Embassy will be closed on Monday, December 24th, 2018, due to the Executive Order issued on December 18th.

This is in addition to the already announced Embassy closure for the public holidays on Tuesday, December 25th and Wednesday, December 26th (Christmas Day and Boxing Day).

However, the Embassy Duty Officer is on-call for any U.S. citizen in need of assistance during this time. Please see the contact information below if you need help.

The Embassy will resume normal operations on Thursday, December 27th.

We strongly recommend that U.S. citizens traveling to or residing in our Consular district (Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands or Vanuatu) enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at travel.state.gov to receive the latest security updates.  By enrolling, you make it easier for the U.S. embassy or nearest U.S. consulate to contact you in case of an emergency.  If you don’t have Internet access, enroll directly with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate or consular agency.
