Message for U.S. Citizens: Consular Officer coming to Vanuatu

Greetings U.S. Citizens residing in Vanuatu,

The U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby is pleased to announce our next visit to Vanuatu. A consular officer will be in Port Vila on Tuesday, August 15th at Jill’s Café (downtown Port Vila).

We will have appointment times from 10:00-12:00 am. Please contact us immediately to reserve a specific appointment time.

The consular section may not have anyone come to Vanuatu for the next six months, so if you need your passport renewed, or any other service requiring a consular officer, please apply for an appointment NOW.

The consular officer will be available to provide basic consular services such as accepting Consular Reports of Birth Abroad applications, U.S. passport applications, and Social Security applications.

Consular Service Fees are as follow:

Consular Report of Birth Abroad – $100.00 USD

First/Minor Passport – $105.00 USD

First Time adult/lost/Stolen passport – $135.00 USD

Adult passport Renewal – $110.00 USD

Notarial Services (per signature) – $50.00 USD

We can only accept fee payments in the form of a bank draft in U.S. dollars, drawn on a commercial bank made payable to “U.S. Embassy”. We are unable to accept personal or company checks, cash or credit cards during outreach trips.

Please visit the US Department of State website to print out the appropriate passport application form for your required service. Please ensure the application forms are fully completed and bring them with you, along with any required supporting documents. Please be sure to bring original documents, and photocopies. After the original documents are seen by the Consular Officer, he will return the originals back to you and retain the copies.

Please ensure that passport photos are the correct size and meet the requirements. Make sure to include a self-paid courier (either from DHL/TNT) for the return of your passport(s) and Consular Report of Abroad Certificate(s) for your child(ren).

Please make sure you have ALL the required documents, as there will be no chance for a second meeting on this trip.

Please contact this office at consularportmoresby@state.gov if you have any questions or need to schedule an appointment to meet with the consular officer.

Sincerely,

Consular Section
