Message for U.S. Citizens in Vanuatu: This is a routine message from U.S. Embassy Port Moresby to U.S. citizens in Vanuatu regarding passport and citizenship services.

U.S. citizens are advised that most adult passport services can be facilitated remotely by following the instructions here: https://bit.ly/3rDyjil

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated impacts to international travel, however, the Embassy’s consular section is still unable to deliver routine passport services to U.S. citizen minors or to U.S. citizens who need to replace a lost, stolen, damaged, or mutilated passport.

In an effort to better understand the level of demand for services that cannot be delivered remotely and to better track individual service requests, the Embassy requests information for the following potential applicants:

  • U.S. citizen minors who need a first-time passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad
  • U.S. citizen minors who need to renew an existing (valid or expired) passport with 5-year validity
  • U.S. citizen minors or legal adults who need to apply for a first-time adult passport with 10-year validity, which can be issued to applicants ages 16 years and up
  • U.S citizens who need to replace a lost, stolen, damaged, or mutilated U.S. passport

If you or any of your children meet one of the criteria immediately above, please complete the following form for each person needing a U.S. passport service: https://bit.ly/3buWGJz

If you previously completed the form, there is no need to do so again.

The Embassy continues to explore all options for providing these services at the earliest available opportunity.

Families or individuals who have emergency need to travel out of Vanuatu en route to the United States and who have family members whose passports have expired or soon will expire are urged to contact ConsularPortMoresby@state.gov as soon as possible.
