Message for U.S. Citizens: Cessation of Outbound Testing at Jacksons International Airport

Beginning at 1:00 a.m. April 25, 2022, COVID-19 testing will no longer be available for outbound travelers at Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby. Outbound travelers must obtain any required tests prior to arrival at the airport for check in.

For travel to the United States, all passengers must have medical documentation of recent recovery from COVID-19 or obtain a negative test result within one calendar day prior to departure en route to the United States. For travel to the US, PCR and most medically supervised rapid antigen tests are acceptable. Review details on testing requirements for US-bound travelers on the Centers for Disease Control website

COVID-19 testing that meets U.S. travel requirements is available at multiple locations throughout Port Moresby. We remind U.S. citizens that Air Niugini and Qantas Airlines have company policies requiring all international passengers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, regardless of transit or destination country requirements.
