Consular Update – Delay of the Entrant Status Check for the 2021 Diversity Visa Program
2 MINUTE READ
April 28, 2020

As we continue to prioritize assistance to U.S. citizens overseas and our global response to COVID-19, the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby are delaying briefly the opening of the Entrant Status Check for the 2021 Diversity Visa Program (“Visa Lottery”).

Now, beginning June 6, 2020, entrants from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu will be able to use their unique confirmation numbers at https://dvprogram.state.gov/ to see if their visa lottery entries were selected.  Successful entrants will be advised through the Entrant Status Check on how to apply for visas for themselves and their eligible family members.

Do NOT provide to anyone your unique confirmation number, as it helps to protect you against fraud and malfeasance.  Entering the unique confirmation number at the Entrant Status Check website on or after June 6, 2020 is the ONLY way to check the status of your visa lottery entry.  Entrants will NOT receive emails or physical mail from the Department of State or the U.S. Embassy.
