Port Moresby, September 29 – U.S. Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and Solomon Islands Erin McKee traveled to Popondetta to meet with provincial government officials, visit the Mangalas Conservation Area, and engage with local leaders on issues of law enforcement, anti-corruption, human rights, and wildlife preservation. President Biden and Prime Minister Marape declared that good governance and protection of national resources are top priorities for the coming years. As such, Ambassador McKee hopes to expand cooperation in Oro province in these two areas as we fight the COVID-19 pandemic and the climate crisis together.
