3 MINUTE READ
March 10, 2021

Papua New Guinea – U.S. Embassy Port Moresby, in partnership with Cultural Vistas, announces that the 2020 Young Pacific Leaders (YPL) Conference has been rescheduled to occur virtually over the dates May 7-9, 2021 Papua New Guinea Time.

The virtual YPL Conference will include discussions led by alumni, experts from the Pacific, and the selected young leaders themselves. The program will aim to foster connections between new YPL delegates and past alumni to further develop the regional network of young leaders, as well as provide the knowledge, skills, and space for collaboration in addressing challenges related to the four YPL program pillars: Civic Leadership, Environment and Resource Management, Education, and Economic and Social Development. Following the virtual Conference, delegates, alumni, and the larger YPL community will have the opportunity to engage in YPL LEADS (Lead, Engage, Advocate, Drive Change, and Serve), a month-long community service event focused on highlighting the impact of YPL members in the region.

The YPL Conference, previously set to take place in April 2020 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A list of the selected 2020 Delegates and Alumni Mentors can be found here.
